Mary J. Pittman, 89, of Allentown, formerly of Whitehall, died Saturday January 28th, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township. She was the widow of the late Elmer C. Pittman. Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Kuhla) Janosik.

Most recently Mary worked in customer service at the former Hess’s and Bon-Ton Department Stores in Allentown. Prior to that she worked as a executive secretary for Prior-Climax Specialties textile manufacturer in Allentown. Mary also worked as a waitress and hostess for many establishments in the area including Cossie Snyders.

Surviving are nephews Kenneth J. Lassover of Allentown and Stanley I. Lassover of Locust Grove, VA; niece Roseanne of Allentown.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103.
