William C. “Willie” Wenzel, Jr., 84, of Whitehall, died Sunday March 4, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Dorothy R. (Nonnemacher) Wenzel. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William C. Sr. and Mollie (Hutter) Wenzel.

Willie was a long time member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church of Whitehall. He was a Purple Heart recipient, serving in the Army during the Korean War. Willie worked for 27 years as an assembler for Mack Trucks in Allentown before retiring in 1982. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 677. Willy was a life member of the West Catasauqua Fire Co.; the Fullerton Fire Co.; the V.F.W. and Hogan’s Social Club of Allentown.

Surviving are a nephew Thomas Nonnemacher and wife Gretchen and their children and the children of Willy’s late niece June Shank and her husband Denny Shank.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday March 6th, 2012 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032, with the Rev. Michael Bodnyk officiating. Call from 10-11am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, 18052.
