Obituary for Mary Karol
Mary Karol, 92 years, of North Catasauqua, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26th, 2018. Her family was blessed and honored to be by her side when she went home to be with the lord. She was the loving wife of the late John Karol, who passed away in 1989. They shared over 40 years of marriage and raised four children in Allentown. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Kathryn (Drabic) Sharga.
Mary was a seamstress and worked over 44 years in various clothing factories. She also enjoyed making clothing for her daughters, relatives and neighbors. Especially for the less fortunate. She helped in the family grocery store as well. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, crocheting, bowling and dancing, especially the jitterbug. She loved to decorate at Christmas time and make special memories for everyones children by making cookie houses that lit up and blew up, and Christmas trees that would talk.
God needed another angel and called upon Mary!
Surviving are her sons John (Josh) and wife Jane, Jim and wife Lynn; daughter Millie and husband Keith Benner and Monica and husband Rick Walters; sister Rosie Barner, Francie and her husband Donald Drabic; sisters-in-law Vivian Sharga and Stella Hutzayluk and was “Baba” to 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, sister Anna Madea and brothers Mike, John, Steve, Peter and Joe.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 31st, 2018 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, PA 18032. Her viewing will be held at 10-11am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
