He was a member of Catasauqua H.S., Class of 1947, where he was a member of the basketball champs that played in Madison Square Garden and was also a member of the Catasauqua legion basketball champs that were runners up to the 1954,1955 state legion title.
Albert was an Army veteran serving with the military police during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean service medal along with other service medals. He was a member of the American Legion Post #215 in Catasauqua, the Catholic War Veterans Post #454, a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus #528, and a life member of the Southwarks Fire Company.
Albert was a former Supervisor and Assistant Postmaster at the Catasauqua Post Office for 30 years. He then was employed in security at Bell & Howell before retiring.
Surviving are daughters Theresa Polchik and Barbara Correll and her husband Thomas, grandchildren Sean Michael, Taryn Patrice, and Tyler Matthew, and a nephew Joseph B. Polchik. He was predeceased by a son Bernard, a daughter Michelle, and a brother Joseph Jr.
Albert was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in N. Catasauqua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Saturday October 6th, 2018 at the church, 1229 3rd St. N. Catasauqua, PA 18032. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30am Saturday in the Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the church.
