Al was a supervisor and Lead Analyst Programmer for Systems Development for the former Stuyvesant/Finance America (Bank of America) before retiring in 1984.
Al was the last original member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Whitehall, established in 1928. He loved his Catholic faith and Church. He was very active as a Lector, Sacristan, Altar Server (even into his 80’s during morning mass), and as a Eucharistic Minister, also taking Communion to Fellowship Manor and Lehigh Valley Hospital residents.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Seniors in Action Group, and he was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, serving several times as Grand Knight. Al served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a life member of Catholic War Veterans Post 454-PA and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293PA.
Survivors include a brother George and his wife Mary, sisters-in-law Rosalie Neupauer and Teresa Neupauer, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Al was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Samuel, John, Jacob, William, and Edward.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am on Saturday August 25th, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 4456 Main St. Whitehall, PA 18052. Call from 9:30-11am on Saturday in the church. Interment to follow at St. Andrew (St. John Fisher) Cemetery, N. Catasauqua. Brubaker Funeral Home Inc. 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037 is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
