Obituary for Alexander Hrizuk
Alexander Hrizuk 74 years of Hokendauqua died Wednesday June 7, 2006 in Sacred Heart Hospital Allentown. He was the husband of Louise (Roberts) Hrizuk and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 23, 2006. Born in Hokendauqua he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Shimshy) Hrizuk. He and he wife owned and operated the former Pennsylvania Precast Concrete Co. of Allentown. Alex was a member of all Whitehall Township Fire Companies and an active Firefighter for 50 years. He was the former assistant chief at Station 38 Hokendauqua #1 for 19 years, a founding member the Whitehall Township Volunteer Fireman’s Association and their former treasure for 20 years. He was a member of the Four County Firemen’s Association and initiated the preschool fire prevention program given at the Hokendauqua Fire Station. Alex served in the US Army during the Korean War and is a member of the Hokendauqua Jones Quigg American Legion Post # 739. He was a member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church of Whitehall. Surviving with his wife are; Daughter - Susan Louise Hrizuk of Hokendauqua Brother - Michael Hrizuk of Georgia Sisters - Josephine Bodish of Hokendauqua and Anna Saylor of N.Catasauqua. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday June 9, 2006 in Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church 3355 McArthur Road Whitehall, Pa. 18052 officiated by Rev. Michael J. Bodnyk. Call 12:30pm until 1:30 pm Friday in the church. Interment will be in St. John’s Union Cemetery-Mickleys. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church or to the Hokendauqua Firefighters Building Fund c/o of the funeral home. The John H. Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032 is in charge of arrangements.
