Obituary for Andrew D Palco
Andrew D. Palco Sr., 88 years, of Whitehall, passed away on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at home, after a courageous 20 year battle with prostate cancer. He was the husband of Elsie (Yost) Palco, celebrating 67 years of marriage on September 16, 2017. Born in Egypt, he was the son of the late Andrew and Susan (Kuchera) Palco.
Andrew was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Stiles. He was employed by Imperial Countertops in Allentown. Prior to that, he worked for the former Willard Battery in Allentown.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed many outdoor activities with his grandsons. He also played the button accordion for Steve Huber and the Happy Austrians for 30 years.
Surviving with his wife is a son Andrew D. Jr. and his wife Barbara of Whitehall, a daughter Andrea Palco of Whitehall, sisters Peg Alfano of Cumming, GA, Fran Moyer of Center Valley, PA, Helen Thomas of Pennington, NJ, and Bernadine Fahringer of Bossier City, LA, and grandsons Zachary and Kyle. He was predeceased by an infant son Bruce, a brother John Palco and a sister Susan Kramer.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday April 5th, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 3024 S. Ruch St. Whitehall, PA 18052. A calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30AM Thursday at the church. Brubaker Funeral Home Inc. 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA 18037, formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ranger Lake Rod & Gun Club c/o the funeral home.
