Angela R. Menza, 78, of Whitehall passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 27, 2023, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Anthony G. Menza for 41 beautiful years before his passing in June of 2006. Born in Franklin Square, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert Heighton and Rena (Cella) Heighton.
Angela was a parishioner of St. Stephen of Hungary Parish in Allentown. She received her Master’s Degree in childhood education specializing in special education of early childhood. She was the owner and educator of Growing Tree school. She was a caring teacher and above all, her biggest enjoyment and accomplishment was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be lovingly remembered and survived by her daughters; Theresa M. Shemanski and husband Joseph; Gina Gilbert and husband Bruce and Christina Menza; brother; Robert Heighton and wife Michelle; sisters; Laura Garczynski and husband George; Renee Gross and husband Charles; 6 grandchildren; Taryn Gilbert, Myles Menza, Tasia Holland and husband David, Teara Gilbert, Jewel Gilbert, Jorne Gilbert and 1 great grandchild, Cana Pia Therese Holland.
A calling period will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Stephen Of Hungary Parish 510 West Union Street, Allentown, PA. 18101 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow after mass at St. Peter’s R.C.C. Cemetery in Coplay.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Stephen of Hungary Parish Building Fund c/o the church. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Coplay is entrusted with the arrangements.
