Obituaries
Born on November 19, 1926, in Nesquehoning PA, she was the daughter of John and Antionette Koziski. She was predeceased by 9 brothers and 1 sister, all of whom she will join in heaven.
She was the wife of the late Stephen Samar, and they had a son, Richard, who learned the benefits of hard work from his parents.
After a series of jobs, Annie worked at Western Electric for 22 years. Then in 1988, a year or so after she retired, Richard bought Garden Gate Natural Foods in downtown Allentown – and she worked there for another 28 years. She was a hard worker, and customers remember her as very knowledgeable, kind and generous – especially when she shared her homemade turkey halupkies, cheesecake, or banana bread with them. She met so many people along the way, and she made some good friends. Those were Allentown’s glory years.
Surviving are her son, Richard, his companion Sally Harris, many nieces and nephews, and cousin Mike.
Annie touched many lives, including those of her home care givers the past few years. She enjoyed working, cooking – especially those halupkies -- family gatherings, church picnics and the companionship of cats. She was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay.
