Arlene Sticher celebrated her 96th birthday on February 23nd surrounded by friends and family and her 76th wedding anniversary to the “love her life”, Jim Sticher, on February 28th. She died on March 3rd at the Villa at Fellowship Community with Jim by her side.
Arlene was an extraordinary woman. She was a division manager of the fashion departments at Sears for 37 years. Her true gift was to be a comfort to others. She touched lives in her years at Seibert EC Church in the neighborhood of Law Street in Allentown until 1967, in her life at Helfrich Springs Apartments, her life at York Street in Catasauqua, and finally her life at Fellowship Community in Brunner Court. Goodness knows how many people were given recipes, jewelry, and loving gifts from Arlene.
Arlene exemplifies a superwoman who could be a good wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and career person. In her words, “When I am gone, release me. Let me go. I gave you my love. You can only guess how much you gave me in happiness”.
Surviving are her husband, Jim at Fellowship Community; daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Linda and Pete Palmo of Macungie; Grandson Michael Lowry with his wife Monika of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; step-grandson, Peter Palmo of Beallsville, PA., and two great grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Lowry. Also surviving is her sister, Mary Lou Hodes, of Fellowship Community and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11am at Fellowship Community in the Zentz Center on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Her viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Zentz Center. Brubaker Funeral Home is in charge of the services. A memory tribute can be placed at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com.
Arlene loved flowers but she also loved her time at Fellowship Community.
