Obituary for Atty. Richard "Dick" C. Buss
Atty. Richard “Dick” C. Buss, 86 years, of Whitehall, died Saturday, September 5th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Doris Pribilla. Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Stanley R. Sr. and Deldee M. (Smoyer) Buss.
Dick was a senior partner for many years with the Buss, Long and Lahr law firm in Whitehall, before his retirement. He was a gradutate of Muhlenberg College and Temple University School of Law. Dick was the solicitor for the Whitehall/Coplay School District. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Fullerton American Legion Post 367. Dick loved to hunt and fish and spend time at his cabin in Potter County.
Surviving along with his wife Doris, are his sons Daniel T. and David J. Buss; daughters Diane C. Rupnik and husband Walter and Valerie McNeill and husband Paul; stepson Anthony Pribilla and wife Brenda; stepdaughter Dorinda Melly and husband Chris; grandchildren Chelsea Lynn Buss, Matthew, Candice, Steven, and Christian McNeill; stepgrandchildren Jude, Julian and Cole; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Stanley Jr., Boyd “Jack”, and Donald.
Memorial Services will be held at 11am Friday, September 11th, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Rd, Whitehall, PA 18052 18032. There will be a calling period from 10-11am Friday at the church. Contributions may be made in his name, payable to Wildlands Conservancy, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049.
