Obituary for Audrey E. Heil
Audrey E. Heil, 77 years, of N. Catasauqua, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital at Cedar Crest on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018. She was the wife of Latta “Sonny” Heil of N. Catasauqua. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Pell) Bixler.
Audrey was a very active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catasauqua. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and served on the church council. She worked for many years as a bus driver for the Catasauqua Area School District. Audrey received the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging’s Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Service with Seniors signed by Sen. Pat Toomey. Audrey enjoyed coordinating bus trips with the Cherryville Senior Center, loved to travel and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan. She was a Brownie,Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader in her early years and she was also a long time member of the Catasauqua Women’s Club.
Surviving along with her husband are her children, son Lester Washburn and wife Connie; daughters Debra Mittura and husband Marty and Diane Smith; 3 stepchildren; 5 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson Scottie and a brother Jerome.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30pm Saturday March 17th, 2018 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, 18032. Her viewing will be from 10am-12:30pm Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to Angel 34 at www.angel34.org or care of the Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032.
