Obituary for Barbara A. Torba
Barbara A. Torba, of Hellertown, formerly of Whitehall, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was the wife of the late Walter “Tex” Torba,. and was married 48 years before his passing in 2019. Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Harakal) Mondrick.
Barbara was a member of the former St. Andrew's Catholic and the current St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. After graduating from Whitehall High School, Barbara worked for Fuller Co. and later F. L. Smidth in various clerical positions.
Barbara is survived by her son Walt “Toby” Torba, and his wife Melissa, granddaughter Tatum, sister Monica Karpowicz and husband Don of Green Valley, Arizona, and brother Peter Mondrick and wife Cathy of San Marcos, California. She was preceded in death by her sister Dora and brother Joe.
Her viewing will be held at 10-11am Tuesday February 6, 2024, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 1239 3rd Street, N. Catasauqua, 18032. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the church at 11am. Entombment to be held at Assumption BVM Cemetery in Northampton.
