Obituary for Barbara M. North
Barbara M. North, 84, of Coplay, passed away on February 4, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. North for 16 years before his passing in 2010. She was the daughter of the late Morris and Julia (Gyori) Moditch.
Barbara was a Slatington High School graduate and worked for many years at A & P Superfresh before her retirement. She was strong in her faith and a devoted member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay.
Her passion was helping people in need. She loved volunteering her time, especially at church functions. What meant most to Barbara was her family. She adored entertaining her family at her home. She was a dedicated mother, loving grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a best friend to her daughter and will be missed by all who knew her.
Barbara will always be lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter, Connie, wife of Ronald Vickery, Quakertown; grandchildren, Megan, wife of Brett Peterson and Steven Vickery and wife, Lori; great-grandson, Lars; step-great-grandchildren, Kristin, Noah, and Mckenna; and step-great-great-grandson, Beckham. In addition to her husband, Charles, she was predeceased by her first husband, Bernard “Bernie” Phillipeck and son, Thomas Phillipeck. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Morris, and Albert; and three sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, and Carolyn.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 4 South 5th Street. Coplay, PA 18037. A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM at the church. Burial will follow the mass at parish cemetery. Contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Peter’s R.C.C. at the above address.
