Obituary for Barry Wassum
Barry Wassum 43 years of Saylorsburg, formerly of Catasauqua, died Friday September 5, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Robin (Chambers) Wassum. Born in Allentown he was the son of Barbara (Bellesfield) Wassum of Ballietsville and the late Winfield “Rip” Wassum. Barry was a 1982 graduate of Catasauqua High School. He earned the title of “Mr. Lehigh Valley” in 1987. Barry worked night shift at the Lehigh Valley Postal Service on Route 512. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Catasauqua. Surviving along with his wife and mother are son Bryar of Saylorsburg and daughter Jessica Ciulla of Allentown. Two brothers: Gary Wassum of Ballietsville and Larry Wassum of Allentown. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday September 10th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, PA 18032. Call Tuesday, September 9th from 7:00-8:30pm at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032 and on Wednesday, September 10th at the church from 12:00-1:00pm before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to his family.
