Obituary for Bernard F Sagan
Bernard F. “Ben” Sagan Sr., 82 years, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday August 14th, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Palmyra, PA, where he was currently residing. He was the husband of Mary D. (Budihas), celebrating 58 years of marriage this month. Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Kovalchick) Saganowich.
Ben was employed by the former Graphic Management Associates of Allentown as an electrician for many years before retiring. Prior to that, he was a sewing machine mechanic for various businesses in the Lehigh Valley.
He was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Orefield and was also a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, a son Bernard F. Jr. and his wife Lynn of Appelton, WI, a daughter Lisa Sagan of Palmyra, brothers Stephen, and Francis and his wife Dawn, all of Whitehall, a sister Jean wife of Philip Wavrek, and grandchildren Kaitlyn, Madelyn and Karalyn. He was predeceased by a brother George, a sister Margaret, and twin brothers John and Jerome.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, August 21st, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 1879 Applewood Drive Orefield, PA 18069. A calling period will be held from 9:30-10:30AM on Monday in the church. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037 is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17110.
