Obituary for Bess Pavlics Horvath
Bess Pavlics Horvath of Catasauqua died April 9th, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Claters Division, East Allentown to Charles and Frances Pavlics. She grew up at the former Allentown Hotel until the area was developed into Riverview Terrace. She spent a wonderful childhood growing up along the Lehigh River and Canal. Bess talked about playing basketball at Mosser, Harrison-Morton and Allentown High School. After high school her family moved to Ellsworth St. in east Allentown until she married John W. Horvath. After the birth of their two children, they moved to Catasauqua, where she lived until her passing. After working for the Lehigh Valley Shirt Co. she became a custodian at the Lincoln School for the Catasauqua School District until retirement. Grammy H will be missed by her husband John of Catasauqua, and her children Jack Horvath and his wife Kathy of Catasauqua, daughter Jane and her husband Ron Bauer of Bath. Her grandchildren Laura Buss and Jamie Bauer of Coplay, Andrew Bauer of Pennsville, NJ. Jay Horvath of Whitehall and Rebecca Horvath of Slatington will always remember her and the crocheted items she made for them. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, her sister Lillian Christine of East Allentown and niece Susan Kennedy of Emmaus. Bess was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles, Clayton and Raymond Pavlics and her two infant sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday April 14th, 2009 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Call from 10-11am at the funeral home.
