Obituary for Betty J. Gersbach
Betty J. Gersbach, 84 years of Whitehall died Tuesday April 15, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Henry) Bortz. She is the last survivor of ten children. She was a widow of the late Paul A. Gersbach, Sr.
Betty worked at ATT for 25 years and retired as an expeditor in 1983. She enjoyed her retirement doing volunteer work at Phoebe and the blind association. She also enjoyed walking and playing tennis, cooking baked goods for grandchildren and traveling. One of her hobbies was making clothing and costumes for her granddaughters with whom she really enjoyed spending time. She was active in several church ministries throughout her life and her last church affiliation was with Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown.
Surviving are her sons Paul A. Pete Gersbach, Jr. of Whitehall and Thomas A., husband to Kristine Gersbach of South Whitehall. 3 grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexis and Erika.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at 11:00am at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. A calling period will be held on Wednesday April 23, 2014 from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to the Alzheimers Association 617 Main St # A, Hellertown, PA 18055.
