Obituary for Betty M. Bankes
Betty M. Bankes, 83, formerly of Coplay, died January 18 at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. Married to the late Elmer J. Bankes, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Herring)Knierim. Betty was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay. Survivors: daughter, Nancy wife of Carl Alekna of Bath; grandson, Christopher and his wife, Melissa; granddaughter, Jessica wife of Andrew Hopton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kitty Koenig. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 23, Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home,327 Chestnut St., Coplay with the Rev. Steven Hummel and the Rev, David Quinn, officiating. No calling hours.
