Obituary for Carl J. Erie, Sr.
Carl J. Erie, Sr., 67, of North Catasauqua, died Saturday, March 12, 2011. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Marion Erie. He was the husband of Jayne (Steiner) Erie of North Catasauqua and celebrated 49 years of marriage last October. Carl was a loyal member of UAW Local 677 working as a production technician for Mack Trucks for over 30 years before retiring. Carl loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sporting events and was an avid Jets fan. Surviving along with his wife Jayne are his two sons: Carl Jr. of Bethlehem and Edward, husband of Jennifer of Macungie; daughter Robin, wife of Scott Hagy of Wescosville; brother Ronald of Erie and sisters Jean of Northampton and Joanne of Oregon; grandchildren Giovanna, Morgyn, Dillon and C.J. and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his brother William and sister Ann. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, March 17th, 2011 at the Bethany Methodist Church, 5th & Walnut Streets, Catasauqua, PA 18032. Calling period 7:00pm-8:30pm on Wednesday, March 16th at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032 and on Thursday from 10-11:00am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s name payable to the Bethany Methodist Church, Kingdom Building Fund, care of the funeral home.
