Carl Malcolm Fischer, Jr., a beloved resident of Plano, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 84. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Carl Malcolm and Clara (Knies) Fischer, Carl spent his formative years in the picturesque town of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Catasauqua High School in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania in 1957 and Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, in 1961, It was during his professional journey that fate intervened, and he found love on a blind date. In July of 1966, Carl sealed his commitment to love and partnership by marrying the love of his life, Rita, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Together, they built a life full of joy and shared adventures.
Carl and Rita welcomed a daughter and a son into their lives, and the family eventually relocated to Plano, Texas, where Carl's career took them. His dedication and hard work led him to a well-deserved retirement in 2003.
An adventurer at heart, Carl enjoyed the thrill of travel, partaking in numerous ski trips throughout the country. His family, however, held the most special place in his heart. As a devoted member of Resurrection Lutheran Church since June 1976, Carl exemplified the values of community and compassion, dedicating his time to volunteering at Resurrection Lutheran Church.
One of Carl's greatest joys was being a doting grandfather to his grandson, Will Manicom. Together, they shared countless memorable moments, from conquering snowy slopes during family ski trips to shooting hoops and learning the ins and outs of his beloved antique car.
Carl is survived by his cherished wife, Rita Fischer of Plano, Texas; his loving daughter, Karen Manicom of McKinney, Texas; his devoted son, Carl M. Fischer of Smyrna, Georgia; and his adored grandson, Will Manicom of McKinney, Texas; cousins, Ralph Boyer and wife, Barbara of Huron, Ohio, Margaret Bruce and husband, Carl of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Carol Cole and partner, Luiz Perigrino of Cupertino, California, Ann Faringer of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Susan Billowitch and husband, John of Whitehall, Pennsylvania; lifelong friends, John and Lucy Orfan of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Bob Sedlak of Syracuse, New York, Andy DiPino of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Bob Williams of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Malcolm and Clara Fischer.
A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 4th St, Catasauqua, Pennsylvania 18032 on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
