Obituaries
Carol M. Morgan, 81, of Catasauqua, entered peacefully into eternal life on September 27, 2022, in the loving embrace of her family. Born on October 29, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late John Kurtzman, Florence Prelle and step-father Charles Prelle. She was the loving wife of the late John W. Morgan, Sr. Together, they raised two children; John W. Morgan, Jr. and the late Deborah “Debbie” A. (Morgan) Spess.
Without any doubt, Carol was greeted at Heavens gate with a sweet embrace from her daughter. She truly loved and adored the friendships she built with her daughter-in-law, Judy, and late son-in-law, Tom. Widely recognized as “Mom Mom,” Carol was the proud grandmother of Caleb Spess and Amanda (Spess) Snyder and step-grandmother of Cyril Jolly and Adrian Murphy. She would often say the highlight of her life was her great granddaughters, her sweethearts, Olivia Grace and Sloane Marie and step-great grandsons Ashton, Keegan and Graison.
A distinguished and highly reputable Human Resources professional, Carol was the President of HR Results, LLC., a consulting firm she established after “retiring” in 2007. Prior to retirement, Carol served as a member of the Global Operations Board, VP of Labor Relations and Human Resources for Silberline Manufacturing Company where she had worked for 22 years. Before joining Silberline, Carol was a Human Resources Manager for Kraemer Textiles, and HR Professional/Manufacturing Supervisor for Boise Cascade Envelopes. In addition to her consulting firm, Carol served as Secretary for Salem United Church of Christ (Catasauqua) and loved sharing her expertise as an Adjunct Lecturer for Wescoe School/Muhlenberg College, DeSales University, Moravian University and Lehigh Carbon Community College. She earned a Master of Business Administration from DeSales University and was a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources. Carol was a Past President and member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management where she served on numerous committees. She also served as a former United States Ambassador for the People-to-People Program.
Of her many accolades, awards, and success, nothing was more important or meaningful to Carol than her family. Her life centered on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as was evidenced in the close relationships she held with each of them and their spouses. Traveling extensively for business, Carol would frequently bring her children and grandchildren along for her many adventures. Making memories with her family was, by far, one of her favorite things in life most especially annual family vacations to Ocean City, New Jersey.
Carol is survived by her loving son, John W. Morgan, Jr. husband of Judy; grandson Caleb Spess and his wife Katie; granddaughter Amanda (Spess) Snyder and her husband Craig, step-grandsons, Cyril Jolly and his wife Dakota and Adrian Murphy and his wife Shayna; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, son-in-law, siblings and her faithful pup, Maddie. She had many extended family members, close friends and colleagues across the globe.
