Obituary for Carole E. Brelsford
Carole E. Brelsford, 83, of Allentown, died Friday February 3, 2023 at Traditions of Hanover in Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” B. Brelsford and celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Born in Potsdam, NY, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elaine (Avery) Roach and beloved granddaughter of Samuel and Grace Avery.
She attended Syracuse Business School and worked as a secretary at Western Electric. Later she worked as a buyer for Hess’s Marketing department and went on to retire as a medical secretary from Lehigh Valley Orthopedics.
She was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown. She was very active in the church where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the food bank and the church bazaar.
Carole lived life to the fullest and was passionate about many things. She and her husband Jack traveled extensively throughout Europe and all over the United States. She especially loved her yearly family vacations to the Outer Banks, N.C. Some of Caroles favorite past times were seeing Broadway shows, attending Penn State football games, having lunch with friends, and shopping, and most importantly gathering with her family.
Above all, Carole was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Jill Henry (Chris), Cathy Golden (Tim), Jennifer Oswald (Mike); eight grandchildren: Amanda, Connor, Nathan, Hannah, Ned, Maria, Mitch and Jack; great grandson, Arthur; sister, Marcia Bergstein (Joseph) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Samuel Roach.
There will be a memorial visitation at Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA. 18104 on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church.
