Obituary for Carolyn Ruth Schleicher
Carolyn Ruth Schleicher, 84, of Catasauqua, PA died peacefully at the Lehigh Valley Hospice center surrounded by family on June 8, 2018. She was the wife of Lee P. Schleicher for 64 years. Born in Schnecksville, Carolyn was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Thomas Snyder and Addie Elmira (nee Buss).
Carolyn graduated in 1951 from Parkland High School. In her early years she worked for H. Leh and Co, Allentown.
She was a lifetime member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Catasauqua and served her church as a former teacher in the church daycare center. She had also served on the Church Council, as well as the Alter Gild and Prayer Chain.
Carolyn also was a former Girl Scout Leader, and a lifetime member of the Lady Lillie Best Rebekah Lodge #222, Schnecksville. She was a life member of the Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association, former member of the Young at Heart Club and a member of the Coplay Saengerbund.
Carolyn and her husband enjoyed dancing, bowling and in younger days they camped and hiked. Carolyn was a dedicated gardener and had a wonderful vegetable garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen A. and her husband John Patton of Glenside, PA. Carol L. and her husband Perry Good of Lititz, PA. Son David P. and his wife Laurie Oakman Schleicher of Sykesville, MD. Three grandsons, Joshua, Brenden, and Dawson Good. Also sister-in-law Marion Snyder of Schnecksville and brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Louise Lessel of Whitehall. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by granddaughter Rebecca A. Brown, sister LaVerne M. Snyder, and brothers Clifford and Rolland Snyder.
Her viewing will be 7:00 until 8:30pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.. Her funeral services will begin at 11:00am with a viewing from 10:00am until time of service, Thursday, June 14, 2018 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.
