Obituary for Catherine "Kitty" E. Williams
Catherine “Kitty” Williams, age 88, of Catasauqua, died in her home on October 19, 2016 surrounded by loving family. She was the spouse of the late Richard B. Williams, also of Catasauqua.
Born in Northampton, Kitty was the daughter of the late Harleigh and Catherine (Morrow) Fatzinger. While she enjoyed traveling, she resided in Catasauqua her entire life. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, a graduate of Catasauqua High School, and a secretary of the former Fuller Company. Kitty later worked at Gillespie’s Jewelry Store in Northampton. While serving as an avid homemaker, she raised three children and, later in life, volunteered for the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA), was a 1st grade senior volunteer at Sheckler Elementary School, delivered Meals on Wheels and, for a short time, assisted at the Catasauqua Food Bank. Kitty was a life long member of the Catasauqua Women’s Club. She was an avid reader who enjoyed discussing novels and authors with her book club.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Corcoran (spouse of Lewis) and a brother, Harleigh Fatzinger; Kitty’s sons, Donald Wallace and his spouse, Brenda, and David Wallace and his spouse Arlene; a daughter, Ann Dreyman and her spouse Wayne; Grandchildren, Jennifer Groff and her spouse Nathan, Jonathan Wallace, Alexandra Rodriguez and her spouse Alex, and Rebecca Dreyman; a stepdaughter, Jacquee Hendrickson and her spouse Ed; Great grandson, Gavin Groff, who was the “light” of Kitty’s life; Members of the extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Richard, Kitty was predeceased by her first spouse, Donald Wallace, and by a brother, Frank Fatzinger.
Memorial services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua 18032 on All Saints’ Day, Tuesday, November 1st. There will be a calling period between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. before the service at the church. Lunch at the church will follow the graveside burial.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to St. Paul’s Church or to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA 18103-4734.
