Obituary for Charles D. Lamm
Charles D. Lamm, 75. of North Whitehall Township, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, died December 15, 2014 surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born in Coplay on Feb 15,1939, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Fixl) Lamm. He was the beloved husband of RoseMarie (Schwartz) Lamm, happily married for over 49 years. A graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and the U.S. Naval School of Music, he served honorably in the US Army as a bandsman in Berlin during the Cold War. He was employed at Phoenix Forge, Catasauqua many years and retired as a truck driver for Lehigh County. A musician, he lead his own band, "The Tyroleans" and also played in other area polka bands. Charlie was an active member and lector of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Coplay, and a lifetime member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #454, Northampton. He will be forever remembered by his family and friends for his kind, giving, and quiet nature. Survivors: Wife, sons, David and his wife Cheryl of Schnecksville; Christopher and his wife Christine of North Whitehall Twp.; grandchildren; Elizabeth, Stephen and Kenzie; brother, Frank and his wife Frances of Emmaus; brother-in-laws; Joseph Schwartz and his wife Barbara of North Whitehall Twp., Thomas and his wife, Donna of Mt. Lookout, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Stella Daddio of North Whitehall Twp.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth Street, Coplay, PA. preceded by a viewing from 9-10:00 a.m., Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay PA 18037. Interment, with military honors, St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Whitehall Contributions: The family suggests that individual's provide an act of kindness to someone in Charlie's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Peter's Catholic Church c/o the funeral home.
