Obituary for Charlotte R Schaffer
Charlotte R. Schaffer, 71 of Slatington, formerly of Catasauqua Towers 534 3rd Street, died Thursday October 18, 2007 in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, in Allentown. She was the wife of George F. Schaffer Sr. of Slatington and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in January of this year. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Peterson) Hengeveld. Charlotte was a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts, crocheting and playing bingo. Surviving with her husband are sons: George F. Jr. with whom she resided, Brian and his wife Sandra; daughters: Brenda Troxell, Joyce Camps, Susan and her husband Andrew Brynarski all of Slatington; brother Raymond and his wife Linda Hengeveld; sisters Doris Werner, Marion and her husband Thomas Guth; 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1pm Wednesday October 24, 2007 at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 12-1pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 S. 12th Street, Allentown, 18102.
