Obituary for Chester F. Ryder
Chester F. Ryder, 90 years of Bethlehem died Tuesday April 23, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Dreisel) Ryder. Born in Lansford, Pa. he was the son of the late John and Rose (Wisniewski) Rydzewski. Chet was an avid and well known artist in the Lehigh Valley and he taught to many students in his home in Bethlehem. He was a Home Designer for various Lehigh Valley Contractors. Chet served his country during WWII with the 462nd bomb group in the Army Air Corp. in the Pacific-Asiatic theater during which time he painted nose art on army aircrafts. Surviving are daughters Rosanne Silvoy of Bethlehem, Kathleen Mory of Bethlehem, Mayra wife of Ever Guadalupe Flores, brother Joseph Rydzewski of Nesquehoning, grandchildren Thomas Mory and wife Wendy and Exavra, Nicholas, Michael and Christina Flores and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Helen, Sabina and Sophie. Funeral services will be 12:30pm Saturday April 27 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. Call 11:00am until time of services Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to St. Luke’s Hospice House 2455 Black River Road Bethlehem, Pa. 18015.
