Obituary for Clara Devine Koch
Clara Devine Koch, 96, of Allentown, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday December 4th, 2011. She was the wife of the late William H. Koch. Born in Alexandria, VA, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Eunice (Fritter) Devine. Clara graduated from Strayer College in Washington D.C. She worked as a secretary for Muhlenberg Elementary School in Allentown and was past president for P.A.E.S. As a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown, Clara had served as president of United Methodist Women and program director of the P.E.P. club. Clara dedicated her life to her family and friends. She is survived by: daughters Judith A. Kazmer, wife of Edward of Ballietsville and Linda D. Ross wife of Kenneth of Lancaster; 5 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers. Clara’s family would like to thank the staff of Luther Crest, who were her “angels” during her stay. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday December 8th, 2011 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104. Call from 9:30-11:00am at the church. Contributions may be made in her name payable to the Clara D. Koch Scholarship Fund of U.M.W. or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation both in care of the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032.
