Obituary for Curtis E. Jodry
Curtis E. Jodry, 81, of Catasauqua, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Hospice House of St. Luke’s VNA, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Rachel S. (Ellis) Jodry. Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Ray S. and Katie (Reiber) Jodry. Curtis worked as a mechanic at Arco in Whitehall for many years before retiring. He is an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Army National Guard for 9 years. Curt was an avid mechanic and was always inventing, restoring and repairing. He and a group of friends once completely restored a steam locomotive to such original condition that it was used in the Hollywood movie A Coal Miner’s Daughter. Surviving with his wife is a son, Curtis S. husband of Karen Jodry, and William husband of Lois Jodry. Daughters: Louise wife of James Gibson, Kathryn wife of Craig Hellie, Nancy wife of Mark Case, and Gloria wife of Ronald Kleckner. A sister June wife of James Krapf. Twenty grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Thomas Jodry. Memorial services will be 11:00am Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua. Call 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at the Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Hospice House of St. Luke’s, VNA, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
