Obituary for Daniel D. Diehl
Daniel D. Diehl, 85 years, of Northampton, formerly of N. Catasauqua, died Saturday April 26th, 2014 in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Kathryn Casey E. (Case) Diehl. Born in East Allen Township, he was a son of the late Arthur C. Sr. and Ruth E. (Dech) Diehl.
Daniel was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua for many years. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for over 23 years on the 48 Roller Mill before retiring in 1987. Daniel served in the Navy during WWII as a member of the SeaBees. He also served in the Merchant Marines and was a former member of the American Legion in Bath Post #470. Daniel was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting deer and small game.
Surviving are his children, sons Randy and wife Gayle, Wayne and wife Kathy; daughters Janet and her late husband Steven Zernhelt, Barbara and husband Thomas Bandle; sisters Marilyn and husband Lester Thomas, Ethel and husband Keith Allswede, Connie and husband Thomas Galgon; sister-in-law Laura Diehl; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday May 1st, 2014 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. His viewing will be from 10-11am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name, payable to the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua care of the funeral home.
