Daniel John "Danny" Meckes, 58, of Palmerton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem.
Born and raised in Ormrod, Daniel was the cherished son of Jeanette (Torbey) Meckes and the late Richard A. Meckes, Sr. He graduated from Parkland High School and went on to become a skilled contractor, known for his love of tackling new projects. Daniel had a natural talent for fixing and building things, and he took great pride in his craftsmanship.
Beyond his work, Daniel had a passion for music, fishing, and the great outdoors. He spent countless hours working on cars, showcasing his exceptional talent. Daniel was known for his sense of humor and kind heart, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His family and friends were his top priority, and he was a devoted “Pappy” and friend, always available to those he loved.
Daniel's memory will be cherished by his mother, Jeanette; his daughters, Taryn Yoo and her husband Joshua, and Morgan Hill and her husband Ethan; his brother, Richard A. Meckes, Jr. and his wife Leigh; his sisters, Annette Bair and her husband Randy, and Karen Meckes and her wife Susan; his beloved grandchildren, Grayson and Harley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Daniel's warm spirit and loving nature touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
There will be a memorial visitation held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA. 18037. A funeral service will follow in the parlor at 11 a.m. A private interment to follow the services.
