Obituary for Daniel L. Moran
Daniel L. Moran, 89, of the Grand Residence in Pittsburgh, formerly of Catasauqua, PA, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of the late Anna (Balik) Moran. Daniel worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Company for 45 years before retiring. He was very proud of his catholic faith, his Irish heritage and his love of dogs. He loved to dance and sing with his wife Annie, his family vacations in Wildwood New Jersey, and the casinos in Atlantic City. He served in WWII as a radio operator in the United States Coast Guard. Daniel was a devoted father of Barbara Moran (her longtime partner Susan Stead) and his late son Daniel Moran Jr. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Bill Moran and two sisters Mary Ellen Moran (who died in infancy) and Catherine Krevanchi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Saturday, December 31st, 2011 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1003 Second Street, N. Catasauqua. Call 6:00pm until 9:00pm Friday December 30th and 8:30am until 9:30am Saturday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Francis Center For Renewal, 395 Bridle Path Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
