Obituary for David A. "RD" Howells
David A. “RD” Howells, 71, died Saturday February 9, 2008 at his home in Whitehall. He was the husband of Christine (Druckenmiller) Howells of Whitehall and celebrated their 50th anniversary on January 25th. Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late David J. and Christine (Ernest) Howells. David was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Annunciation B.V.M. in Catasauqua. He worked for 47 years as a drop forger for Phoenix Forger before retiring. Surviving with his wife are a son David E. and his wife Patricia of Coopersburg; daughters Edith Howells of Northampton and Denise and her husband Mark Fisher of Whitehall; grandchildren Chase, Kyle, Brandon, Devin, Tyler; and great grandson Cameron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Thursday, February 14th, 2008 at St. Mary’s Church of the Annunciation B.V.M., 122 Union Street, Catasauqua. Call from 7-8:30pm Wednesday, February 13th and 9:30am-10:30am Thursday at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Ray Ormsby Cancer Fund care of the funeral home.
