Obituaries
David graduated from Catasauqua High School in 1952 and served in the United States Army Reserves for 7 years and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 31 years as a Clerk, Shipper, and Assistant Chief Clerk, retiring in 1980. He worked several part-time jobs after that time.
He enjoyed casino gambling and bingo with his wife Jeanie. Dave was a member of the Catasauqua Area Lions Club for 40 years, serving as Secretary for 7 years, President for 2 terms, and served as Zone Chairman twice. In addition, he was Chairman of Christmas Meals for the Elderly at St. Paul’s Church. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.
David is survived by his children; Kathaleen Stephen, Brenda Burger, wife of Jeffrey, predeceased by David M. Knerr surviving is his wife, Wilma, and Terri Ann Eder, wife of Paul. He is also survived by his grandsons; Patrick Kline, Christopher Knerr, Michael Knerr, and Matthew Stephen, and granddaughters; Samantha Stephen, Shuli Eder, and Shauna Eder. He was blessed with great-grandchildren; Genevieve Kline, Margot and Emerson Knerr, Riley and Nolan Knerr, Elianna, Addilyn, and Landon Stephen, and Kataleya and Mateo Silguero. David is predeceased by his brother Winfield Knerr and is survived by his siblings; Lowell Knerr and JoAnn Lambert.
A calling period will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Coplay. 327 Chestnut Street Coplay, PA. 18037 from 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. Due to current restrictions, we ask that all attendees wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Services will be private and by family invite only.
