Obituary for David W. Skeath
David W. Skeath, 74, of Orefield, passed away on the fifteenth of January, 2015 in the Lehigh Valley Hospice Unit. He was married to Jo-An (Klucharich) Skeath for the past 51 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Sterner) Skeath. A graduate of Allentown High School, he was president of his class of 1958 and co-captain of the undefeated 1957 football team. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics from Harvard University and an MBA from Lehigh University. He retired from PP&L after 36 years of service, having worked in various executive positions. He was a Registered Professional Engineer, coached football (85 pounders) for the Fullerton Athletic Association, and was a mentor for the Junior Achievement Program. David was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield. He was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Jo-An, he was the father of David and his wife Linda of Lake Villa, Illinois; Tim and his wife Cathie of Emmaus; Karen and her husband Greg Kemper of Orefield; six grandchildren;: Alyssa and Sarah Skeath, Gregory, Alex, Eric and Jacob Kemper; brother, Albert H. Skeath of Allentown; sister-in-law, Diane Skeath of Neffs. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert N. Skeath. A viewing will be held Sunday, January 18, 2014, from 7-8:30 p.m., Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA and from Monday, January 19, 2015 from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay. Interment, St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Whitehall Township. Memorial Contributions: To Lehigh Valley Hospice or St. Peter R.C. Church or St. Joseph the Worker R.C. Church, all in care of the funeral home 18037.
