Obituary for Donna C. Nuss
Donna Claire Nuss, 77 years, of Orefield, went to be with her Lord, Sunday November 13th, 2016. Gratefully, she was at home, with her children at her side. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Nuss and had celebrated 49 years together before his passing. Born in Queens, NY, Donna was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lillian (LaFrance) Ross.
Donna was a 1959 graduate of the Methodist Hospital Nursing School of Brooklyn, NY. She worked as a hospital RN and, for many years, with the Visiting Nurses Association. Moving from Brooklyn to Allentown in 1991, Donna was an extremely active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was joyfully involved with the Asbury Quilters, Visitation Care, UM Women, and Sunday School. She also volunteered with afterschool tutoring and at the food pantry, both in Allentown.
Donna was dearly loved by family, friends and members of her church. She is survived by her daughters Lisa and spouse Rev. Dr. David Wallover, Laurie and spouse Ben Sciortino; son Keith Nuss and spouse Ramzi Abufaraj; grandchildren Zack and spouse Rachael, Rob, and Katie Wallover, and Ben, Michael, and Angela Sciortino; great granddaughter Kerrigan Wallover.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday November 26th, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, 18104. There will be a calling period from 10-11am prior to the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in her name to the church or to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 S. 12th St. in Allentown.
