Obituaries
Dorothy “Dot” Torrey of South Whitehall Township passed away on July 13, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Marian Zoll. She was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Girls. She worked as a customer order representative for Rohm & Hass prior to moving with her family to the Lehigh Valley. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church for over 45 years including the Pioneer class, Susanna Circle, and building committee. She volunteered for many local organizations including Friends of the Parkland Library and the Women’s Club of Allentown.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Dave, she is survived by two sons, David and his wife Sue of Danville, PA and Scott and his wife Renee of Ashburn, VA; four grandchildren - Ryan, Logan, Ian and Aylen; a sister Barbara and her husband Bill Turner of Washington state; along with a nephew, niece and cousins. She was predeceased by several brothers and a sister.
Services: A Life Celebration Service will be held in the sanctuary at 11AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104. At the conclusion of the service we will dismiss through the Memorial Garden There will be no calling hours.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dot to the Asbury in Mission (AIM) fund supporting local missions through Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, Pa. 18104.
