Obituary for Dorothy I. Roth
Dorothy I. Roth, 91 of North Catasauqua, died Monday January 17th, 2011 at Phoebe Home in Allentown. Born in North Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Minervia (Bartholomew) Roth. “Dot” was a member of St. John’s U.C.C. in Howertown.. She was a long time former member of Salem U.C.C. of Catasauqua, where she ran the Girls Youth Group. Dot was a member of the Church Quilters at both St. John’s and Salem churches. Dorothy worked as a billing supervisor for Blue Cross in Allentown for many years before retiring in 1985. She was a volunteer for the Northampton Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. Dot was also an avid traveler visiting every state except Kentucky. Dorothy is survived by her niece Joan Diane Roth of Macungie and nephew Glenn M. Roth and his wife Barbara of Catasauqua; sister-in-law Gloria V. Roth; grand nephews Andrew Roth and his wife Alicia, and Michael Garrett Roth. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother Wilbur F. “Mickey” Roth. Services will be held at 11am Thursday January 20th, 2011 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Rev. Clifford Herring will be officiating. Call from 10-11am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. John’s U.C.C., 22 Atlas Road, Northampton, 18067 or to Meals On Wheels of Northampton County, 4240 Fritch Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18020.
