Obituary for Dorothy L. "Dot" Handfest
Dorothy L. “Dot” Handfest 86 years formerly of West Catasauqua died Friday March 9, 2007 in Allentown. She was the widow of the late Anton S. Handfest who died in 1979. Born in Catasauqua she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Nagel) Geiger. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Catasauqua and their Credit Union and the Altar and Rosary Society. Dorothy had worked as a clerk for the former Leh’s Department Store, Zollinger’s Department Store and Gilbert’s Radio and TV of Allentown. She had also worked as a waitress at the former Roy Snyder’s Tavern of Hokendauqua. Surviving are son James T. husband of Kay Handfest of Whitehall and granddaughter Sarah M. Handfest of Newville, Pa. Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. Call 9:00am until 10:00am in the funeral home.
