Obituary for Dr. Bruce A. Frankenfield
A well-known and highly respected member of the local medical community, Dr. Bruce A. Frankenfield 84, died in the early morning hours of Monday December 26, 2016 after celebrating what was to him the “breath of life” Christmas Day in the beauty of his home. Although he had no immediate family his house was decorated year round, never disposing of anything and adding this year, again, as always to his collection.
He was born to the late Clyde S. and Marie B. (Faulkner) Frankenfield. He graduated from Catasauqua High School; the district of which his father was superintendent for many years, Lehigh University and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He served his residency at Gessinger Memorial Hospital in Danville, Pa. He served his internship at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown where he was on the staff until his retirement and he practiced internal medicine with the Hamilton Internists Associates. He served domestic duty with the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua and numerous medical societies and was well known for his generous support of many charitable causes.
Surviving are cousins Irene Heiland of Coopersburg and William D. Faulkner of Catasauqua. He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth M. Frankenfield in May of 2009
Memorial services with the Rev. P. Douglas Cronce officiating will be 11:00am Tuesday January 3, 2017 from the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.
