Obituary for Edith Mae “Jean” Scheirer
Edith Mae "Jean" Scheirer, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022.
Formally of Whitehall and born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Schlegel and Leona (Smith) Schlegel. She was the loving wife of the late J. Richard Scheirer for 57 years prior to his passing.
Edith was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua. She was employed at the former LEHS of Allentown, the former Allentown Dairy and retired as a salesclerk from Sears in Whitehall.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Carol Sauerzopf and husband John, brother, Colin Schlegel, sister, Karen Drehier, grandchildren, Brad Sauerzopf and wife Maria and Ross Sauerzopf and wife Kaitlin, great grandchildren, Max, Jack, Grace, Harper and Lucy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arlene Reitz, Richard Schlegel, Dennis Schlegel, Robert Schlegel and Ronald Schlegel.
