Obituary for Eleanor I. Nevins
Eleanor I. Nevins 89 years of N.Catasauqua died Monday May 29, 2006 in Fellowship Manor Whitehall. She was the widow of the late John “Jack” Nevins. Born in Catasauqua she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Mabel I. (Oldt) Woodring. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua where she was a former choir member and soloist for over 50 years. Eleanor was a former WWII Air Raid Warden in Hokendauqua, an avid golfer, a member of the women’s bowling team of the Catasauqua Club and an exceptional seamstress. Surviving are her daughter Jane E. wife of Bill Roman of N.Catasauqua sons John S. Nevins of Alabama and Samuel James Nevins of Catasauqua, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday June 1, 2006 in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. Call 7:00pm until 8:30pm Wednesday and 10:30am until 11:00am Thursday in the funeral home.
