Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" F. Gibisser
Elizabeth "Betty" F. Gibisser 86, of Phoebe Home, Allentown formerly of Emmaus died November 27, 2010 in her residence. She was the wife of the late John Gibisser. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late James D. and Agnes (Ernst) Campbell. Elizabeth was a graduate of William Allen High School where she was co-valedictorian and a member of the traveling Accapella Choir. She was a legal secretary at age 19 for Judge Diefenderfer and later was a legal secretary for Bernard Naef, Allentown City Solicitor and Jack Kaufman. She was an avid sewer and member of the Couturier Society. Her pieces including suits, coats and a wedding dress were featured in a fashion show and included in an article in The Morning Call. Elizabeth loved painting watercolors and studied under Lee Everett. Some of her paintings were exhibited in an art show at Allentown College. Elizabeth was a member of the Church of St. Ann of Emmaus. Surviving are sons James J. husband of Susan Gibisser of Bethlehem and John M. Gibisser of Florida; daughter Elizabeth A. wife of James Cramsey, Jr. of Macungie. Elizabeth has five grandchildren Tara Anderson, James III, Jessica and Joshua Cramsey and Steven Gibisser. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to Phoebe Home, 1925 Turner St. Allentown, 18104.
