Obituary for Elizabeth M. Frankenfield
Elizabeth M. Frankenfield, 84 of Catasauqua died Friday May 22, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Clyde S. and Marie B. (Faulkner) Frankenfield. Elizabeth was a home economics teacher with the Allentown School District for over 25 years and was a graduate of Hood College. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua. She greatly enjoyed decorating her home, especially and particularly her Victorian doll house. She also collected a number of unique and unusual teddy bears. Elizabeth loved traveling with friends to the Orient, England, Wales Italy, Scandinavia and she looked forward to her annual trips to Vermont to see the fall foliage. Her favorite trips were to The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia which her cousin introduced her to and she and her cousin often said, “If they could not make it into Heaven, they would settle for the Greenbrier!”. She also accompanying her brother on several trips to the west coast, Chicago and New Orleans. Surviving are her brother Bruce A. Frankenfield, M.D. of Catasauqua, and cousin Irene Hieland of Coopersburg. Memorial services will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Call from 1:30-2:30pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
