Obituary for Erwin "Lew" Lewis Meitzler, Jr.
Erwin Lewis "Lew" Meitzler Jr., 79 years, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday August 28th, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Bernadine (Janscak) Meitzler. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Erwin Lewis, Sr. and Mary (McGeady) Meitzler.
Erwin attended Lafayette College and was employed by Bethlehem Steel and worked in the Homer Research Lab and later for many years in Information Technologies before retiring. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Western Electric. Upon retirement, he worked at Whitetail Golf Course as a starter. He loved being with his family, especially his grandson Tyler, loved his dog Nikki, and was an avid golfer with 5 hole in ones. He was a Navy veteran. Lew was kind-hearted, generous, and humble. He was loved by many and will be missed terribly.
Survivors include a son Mark L. of Bethlehem, daughter Kathryn and her husband Timothy Tinsley and their son Tyler of Nazareth, and a sister Huberta Janscak. He was predeceased by sisters Mary and Jeanne.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place #170 Bethlehem, PA 18017 or an animal charity of one's choice.
