Obituary for Faith D. Crouthamel
Faith Diane Crouthamel, age 79, passed away on December 26, 2018 at her home in Coplay, PA. Faith was born December 14, 1939, in Allentown, PA, the daughter of John and Christine (Santee) Roberts. She was married to Samuel A. Crouthamel for over 38 years.
Faith graduated from Emmaus High School in 1957. She began work at PP&L in Allentown, followed by many years with Fuller Co. in Catasauqua, PA, a subsidiary of GATX Corporation. She also held positions at Rock Hill Concrete Company in Catasauqua. She was co-owner of SAC’s Citgo in Coplay, PA with her husband Sam. Never one to sit still, she was an AVON Regional Distributor up until the time of her death.
Faith was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church of Catasauqua for over four decades prior to its closing in 2007, involved in its choir, accounting and fund raising. Thereafter she attended services at St. Paul’s UCC in Northampton, PA. She was a member in the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
Faith had a true passion for Gardening, evident in the spring-to-fall blooms surrounding their home in Coplay; She loved being outdoors in gardening gloves while Sam installed the latest fish pond or waterfall for her. Having joined local gardening clubs, she loved to display award-winners she had coaxed into full bloom from just a cutting.
Faith is survived by her beloved Husband Samuel Crouthamel of Coplay, PA; Sister Joyce Scheirer of North Catasauqua PA; Sons David Dougherty (Valerie) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Scott Dougherty (Lynn) of Omaha, NE; five Grandchildren and one Great-Grandchild in PA and NE, and four Nieces and one Nephew here in the Lehigh Valley.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am on January 2, 2019, at the Cedar Hill Memorial Park Chapel, followed by a brief service and internment in the Cedar Hill Community Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund at https://www.fallenheroesfund.org.
