Obituary for Flemming Schomburg
Flemming Schomburg, 70, of Catasauqua, died at his home, on April 18, 2021. Born May 26, 1950, to Elva and Henning Schomburg in Norresundby, Denmark.
Flemming was a Senior Process Engineer with F. L Smidt/Fuller Company for over 25 years. He traveled the world working on the cement process and updating new designs at cement plants where he traveled. He invented several designs that were actually patented by his employer.
He was a youth soccer coach in Catasauqua. He played professional soccer in Denmark and continued to have a passion for the game of soccer.
Flemming was a great supporter and husband for nearly 27 years of marriage. His wife, Franciel M. Schomburg and granddaughter, Amanda Grace Votral are his survivors.
He was the best mentor and father-figure (Pop Pop) in Amanda’s life from the day she was born. Their relationship will live on forever with all the memories they created between the two of them!
Flemming also was an advocate speaker at cancer support groups. He may have lost his fight with cancer but what strength he exhibited through the year with the fight.
