Obituary for Francis R. Mark
Francis R. Mark 74 years of Catasauqua died Monday May 16, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twsp. He was the husband of Marie Ann (Blose) Mark and they celebrated their 46 wedding anniversary in April 2011. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Matilda E. (Weaver) Mark. Francis worked in the electronics clean room of Agere for over forty years before retiring. He was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Catasauqua, a life time member of the Fullerton Fire Co. #1, and a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post # 215. Francis was in the US Navy aboard the USS Walke and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family and friends. Surviving with his wife Marie Ann are son Michael husband of Jodi and their children Andrew and Joseph of Whitehall, son Stephen and his children Ashley and Nicholas of Catasauqua, sister Yvonne wife of Robert Bergenstock of Reading and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jackie, Christine, Corinne and Rosemary, brothers Alfred, James and Thomas. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am Thursday May 26, 2011 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Second and Union Streets Catasauqua. Call 9:00am until 10:00am Thursday May 26 in the church. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the church or to the Boy Scouts of America 991 Postal Road Allentown, Pa. 18109. The Brubaker Funeral Home of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements.
