Obituaries
He attended Northampton High School. After which, he served his country with honor, earning the rank of Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars.
Frank was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 4714, Northampton, PA. Frank was employed by Mack Trucks as an assembler and auto mechanic for 32 years before retiring in 1987. Frank was a member of the former St. Lawrence, the Martyr Roman Catholic Church, North Catasauqua, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a present member of St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, North Catasauqua. His greatest enjoyment came from attending, with much pride, his grandchildren’s athletic events, dance recitals, and CAST performances.
He is survived by sons; David (Claudette) and James (MaryEllen), both of North Catasauqua and his grandchildren; Dani, Justin, Patrick, and Cristian. He is also survived by his sister, Anna Hammel of Northampton, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Regina, siblings John, Joseph, George, Stephen, Theresa Hadik, and Rose Marakovits predecease him. He is also predeceased by an infant grandson, Nathan. Frank’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care he received from the nurses and support staff of St. Luke’s Hospice Care.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3rd at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 1239 Third Street, North Catasauqua. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00- 10:30 A.M. at the Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua. Internment with military honors will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery in North Catasauqua.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church or Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Frank. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com.
